US immigration authorities plan to deport Kilmar Abrego Garcia to Uganda, a move his lawyers denounce as “vindictive” on the part of President Donald Trump’s administration. According to a court filing released Saturday, the decision followed Abrego Garcia’s refusal to accept a deal that would have seen him deported to Costa Rica in return for staying in custody and pleading guilty to human smuggling charges.
