In this issue we whisk you off to the south of France, to the French Riviera, and to Grasse, the perfume capital of France, and to Provence which is dreamy rather than sleepy in winter. Discover the fairy-tale Châteaux of the Loire Valley, all decked out in their Christmas finery; and float into the festive spirit aboard a Christmas cruise through Alsace where the towns and villages look like they’ve escaped from a snow globe. Explore Paris, Marseille, Lille, Limousin, Lyon and La Rochelle. I was in Paris last week and it was feeling very Christmassy! The lights are on in the Champs-Elysees, the window displays are fabulous, the Big Wheel is up near the Louvre, the Christmas market stalls are setting up, and some are even open. In my rural bit of France, there’s no sign whatsoever yet of the festive season – it’s far too early!
