Israel bans Red Cross from visiting to detained Palestinian combatants
Israel has banned the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for visiting Palestinian prisoners detained under a law targeting “illegal combatants”, Defence Minister Israel Katz announced.
“The opinions presented to me leave no doubt that Red Cross visits to terrorists in prisons would seriously harm the state’s security. The safety of the state and our citizens comes first,” he said in a statement.
Israel defence minister warns Hamas leadership will have ‘no immunity’
Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has warned that Hamas leaders will have no immunity.
“There will be no immunity for anyone in the leadership of the terrorist organisation Hamas—neither for those in suits nor for those hiding in tunnels,” Katz said, referring to several Hamas political leaders residing in Doha.
“Whoever raises a hand against an (Israeli) soldier, his hand will be severed. The (Israeli military) has been instructed to act decisively against every Hamas target and will continue to do so.”
On September 9, Israel attacked Hamas negotiators in Doha, Qatar, triggering widespread condemnation and drawing a rebuke from US President Donald Trump.

Trump says ‘nothing’ will jeopardise Gaza ceasefire, despite Israeli strikes
US President Donald Trump said Wednesday “nothing” would jeopardise the ceasefire in Gaza, despite Israel’s deadly strikes.
Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the strikes after an Israeli soldier was killed, blaming the attack on Hamas. The militant group has denied the accusations.
Trump defended Israel’s actions, saying it “should hit back” if its soldiers were killed, but added that “nothing’s going to jeopardise” the truce.
“They killed an Israeli soldier. So the Israelis hit back. And they should hit back,” Trump said.
At least 50 dead, including 22 children, in fresh Israeli strikes
At least 50 people, including 22 children, have been killed in fresh Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip, the enclave’s civil defence agency said. Around 200 people were also wounded in the attacks that began on Tuesday evening.
“At least 50 killed, including 22 children and a number of women and children, as a result of the ongoing Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip since last night,” Mahmud Bassal, spokesman for the agency, told the AFP news agency.
Bassal said the strikes were a ” clear and flagrant violation of the ceasefire agreement”, and described the situation in Gaza as “catastrophic and terrifying”.
