Hong Kong-based researcher Astrid Andersson is planning to set up around 50 nest boxes around the city in an effort to help boost the population of the endangered yellow-crested cockatoo. The raucous birds, of which fewer than 2,000 remain in the world, normally nest in natural cavities in trees which are being decimated by typhoons and government pruning.
