The EU adopted stricter rules on Friday for issuing visas to Russian nationals to enter the EU, ending the issuance of multi-entry Schengen permits in most cases. Under the new rules, Russian nationals “will have to apply for a new visa each time they plan to travel to the EU, allowing for close and frequent scrutiny of applicants to mitigate any potential security risk”, said the European Commission.Â
